What Types of Warranties come with an HR System?
What Types of Warranties come with an HR Software System?

In the past you got what you got with an HR system. If you purchased one blindly or based upon the advertisements for it alone then you may have been disappointed. Yet there weren’t any types of warranties or refunds on such HR software products. The money you shelled out for it was already gone and you were stuck.

As with any type of product out there, the goal is to keep customers happy. One way that HR systems have started to do that is to offer some type of warranty. That covers you so that if you end up not liking it once you buy it then you don’t end up losing your money. If you find that there are glitches in the system when you buy it then you can also ask for your money back.

This gives some added confidence when a new product comes out. We all know there can be bugs involved with any form of software. Some of the top promoted products out there failed to impress initially due to bugs that still had to be worked out. With such a warranty in place though you don’t have to worry that what you invest in won’t work. If it doesn’t, you can get the money you paid for it back.

You may decide that a warranty really isn’t on your top priority list when it comes to HR software. You may be more interested in better features, great customer support, and a low price. Yet you should be able to find a great product out there that offers you all of that as well as a warranty. The longer period of time they offer you the more confident they are that you will be 100% satisfied with the HR system they have sold to you.

The overall performance of such a system needs to be there. For example if it runs very well but then all freezes up, something isn’t right. These types of problems can slow down your business and the flow of day to day operations. You certainly don’t want to continue to struggle with such HR software day after day either. Voice your needs to the makers of these products so that they can help offer you exactly what you need.

Evaluating the type of warranty that comes with any HR software is very important. More of the companies out there are offering them because they do want consumers to have the utmost confidence in what they are purchasing. They know that budgets are tight so the decision to invest in such a program doesn’t come lightly.

Make sure you are fully aware of the warranty and what it covers though. Don’t assume anything because that can end up getting you into trouble. Nothing is more frustrating then accidentally doing something that will void out the warranty. For example it may only be good for the first 90 days that you have the HR system in use. After that, there is no warranty extended.

Others won’t give you the money back unless you have the receipt and all of the original packaging. Even then they may charge you a restocking fee or other nonsense that is going to reduce the amount of the refund they will give to you. This is upsetting because you paid full price for the product and you should get a full refund.

If you don’t use the HR software the way in which it was intended that too can void out the warranty for you. There is a gray line here that can be problematic though. For example you do have the flexibility with an HR system most of the time to make it uniquely yours. Therefore what constitutes it not being used the way in which it was intended?

This isn’t to say that the manufacturers of HR software aren’t fair when it comes to the warranties that they offer. However, you need to make sure you read all of the material before you buy that product. It can be boring and very dry material but keep in mind that what it has to say can affect your ability to get a refund or not should you experience any types of problems.
